I got the blond version of this brow definer. The wind-up wax pencil part is spectacular. I always seem to over-sharpen regular pencils, wasting a lot of tip when they break off. But the color does not look very blond to me at all. I can deal with it because I use it to make short strokes simulating hair. The shadow part (or filler) is in the cap portion and works well if you use a light hand and not press too hard. But the color that comes out is decidedly milk chocolate brown or darker. I am a natural medium-to-dark blond and although I appreciate the "strong brow" look, I have no desire to look like a clown. Also, I went to 3 local Walmarts and NONE of them had blond in stock, so I ordered it online. See more

For years and years I bought and used Maybellines Ultra Brow powder with brush. Loved it, then they stopped making it. Purchased as many as I could off various websites, stock running low. About a year ago I tried the Maybelline Eyestudio Brown Define+Fill Duo. The pencil end works great because it is colored wax so the powder really sticks well. However, I do not like the eye powder end as the foam end is too wide (I have narrow brows) and there is way less powder than wax. Last week I was in to purchase another Maybelline Eyestudio Brown Define+Fill Duo and noticed that Maybelle is now making and selling just the Ultra Brow Powder with brush. HOORAY!!!! See more

Coming with no instructions we were left thinking that the powder flows thru the sponge and mine appeared to be bone dry. I realized that it had pump feature and tried that, thinking the powder was inside the pen and I was trying to make it come out. This is backward. LOOK INSIDE THE CAP! Watching youtube, I see the powder is in the cap and it is when you screw the lid on that it picks up more. Once I saw it in there, I had hope I could make it work. It seems mine was dried up and would not come off, so I used the pointed end of another applicator to lightly scrape the powder in the cap. Then I put the lid back on and screwed it down, then backed off a little and screwed it back & forth a few times - VOILA! fresh powder that will come off the sponge and onto my brow! (there was a brown dot on the sponge when I opened it, but it was dry.) Now that I have the powder fresh in the cap, it may be that it will pump from the cap, l dont know, will pump or twist back & forth as needed, from here out. See more

I am not sure if I am using right. I do not understand how to use the end with the sponge. I love the color but cannot seem to get the point of the other end?

The brow tool by Maybelline was perfect. The fine end allowes for a precise and natural looking brow while the other end is a powder which sllows you to fill in any sparse areas and make your brows really bold and clean. Loved IT!
