I am partial to dark nail polishes and have bought more brands of black nail polishes that I care to admit. In search of "The One" that will stay looking just painted day after I put it on, and applies evenly and smoothly. I was super excited when I saw this gel nail polish in black, since I have used this brand in a lighter color and it was amazing. Unfortunately Sally Hansens team missed the mark with the black polish. The directions say to apply 2 coats of the color and then the gel top coat to activate the gel component that will give you nails that look like salon done acrylics. But the polish went on unevenly even after I applied the second coat, so that there were areas of my nail that were lighter than others making my nail color appear dull. And when the top coat was applied it made it worse. My suggestion, if you are like me and really like black or black like, apply another color as on of the 2 recommended coats. It evens out the color. To say I was disappointed , sadly is an understatement, so ,my quest for a perfect black nail polish continues. See more

Ok, ladies, forgive me for being a commercial and sounding girly ... but I just gotta. Ive never been blessed with long, strong fingernails. (Ill lucky if they are ever long enough to scratch!) Nail polish has never helped; it peels along the sides and wears off the tips just from daily activities. Ive said for years that I wanted to invent a lacquer polish that didnt require salon level attention (cuz Im just not a salon girl). But, Sally Hansen beat me to it. This is after 4 days - no peeling, no wearing off. Step 1 = 2 coats of color. Step 2 = clear topcoat. Add refresher coats and it even gets better. A. Mazing. I like this polish better then getting gels professionally done. And when I do want to get a professional manicure and pedicure I just take my SHG polish with me and have them paint my nails with my product. Im a nurse and I wash my hands about a hundred times a day and this polish holds up for at least a week and a half and even then theyre just little cracks (no chips).

I painted my toes and it lasted over a MONTH before it started to lift just a little at the base. Never chipped once during that month. SOOO impressed!!! I feel like it would have lasted even longer but It was growing out and I needed to trim my nails. Such an amazing product. Pretty piggy was the color I used, I ended up using 3 coats of color to make it a solid color but well worth it! Wont use anything else!!

Dries fast! Not cheap and flaky, every one is always asking me where I do my nails and they never believe I do my own. They always ask me if I get gel manicures and I tell them its Sally Hansens gel miracle polish. My favorite is tidal wave. Definitely recommend this polish to at home mani lovers!
