As someone who is testing to determine if I have Diabetes, testing my blood sugars hurts. It is nice being able to adjust the depth of the needle. However never having tested myself before, determining how deep to set the needle is difficult. starting at 1 thinking it was too shallow I put it to 3, huge mistake. Use 2,it doesnt hurt too bad.

I bought this because it was rated number one in 2017 and the Next series have been highly rated for the last 3 years by some diabetic Org and consumer testing. It keeps a separate record of the results of four types of tags. The 1st is fasting, 2nd before meals , 3rd after meals and 4th is total. It does this in increments of 7 days, 14, 30, and 90. The only down side is it only allows you to view them 1 at a time. you have to go into trend settings and choose which one you want to look at. Most of the other meters let you look at them all at the same time when you choose the highest one so you can see if you are keeping up short term and long term. The short term results let you know if need to adjust your carbohydrate intake before you get into trouble. See more

I have been using this contour next blood glucose meter for over 4 months so far and honestly speaking, compared with other brands out there, the readings results on this contour next meter are much better accurate than the other brands, Im so happy to own one of this contour next blood glucose meter! Thx

Ive had diabetes for almost 20 years and only recently learned that there are vast differences in the accuracy of various meters. Recently I was noticing an enormous discrepancy between what my meter and my A1C tests. My meter said that my blood sugar was quite high, usually 135-145 fasting. My A1Cs, however, were excellent. So I did research, learned about the problems with meters, and switched. I chose the Contour Next because it was rated as one of the best (as far as accuracy is concerned). And if your meter isnt accurate, why bother using it? Immediately my test results all lined up. My fasting sugars "dropped" to 92-100, exactly what my A1Cs suggested they ought to be. This was a tremendous relief to me. I used to get upset every morning, reading those high numbers and wondering what I was doing wrong. Now I know that the only mistake I made was using an inaccurate meter. Contour Next is great, easy... and ACCURATE. See more
