Because I have quite a collection of various brands of nail polish, I thought I would try this gel top coat over a silver polish that was NOT Sally Hansen brand nor was it a gel. The first try was not very successful. I put on one thin coat of the silver polish and waited for about 10 minutes for it dry, then applied the gel top coat. The polish immediately thinned out and pooled around my cuticle. It left the polish looking streaky and see-thru in spots. I tried it again on the other hand with the same silver polish and waited about 45 minutes to dry before adding the gel top coat and I got the same results. The pictures show one nail before the top coat was applied and the same nail (10 minutes later) with the top coat. It dried quickly and looks shiny. I decided to leave the polish as is just to see how long it would last. I left it on for 7 days and Ive been doing all of my normal activities (laundry, cleaning, shopping, typing, etc.) and there are no chips in the polish. I just removed the polish from both nails with 100% Acetone and it came right off with one wipe. I will definitely try this again with some other brands and colors (and eventually Sally Hansen Gel) and maybe try putting on a thicker coat of base polish. I didnt test this for the full 14 days, but other than experimenting with the polish itself, getting 7 days out of a manicure is pretty great! See more

This review is for the miracle gel nail color in Wine Stock used with the Miracle Gel top coat. Regular Gel nail polish has been around awhile in nail salons and, in homes more recently, and requires the use of a uv lamp to "cure" or harden the polish dry. This nail polish is unique in that it boasts the features of gel nail polish without the need of a special uv lamp to cure the polish. Finishing your nail polish with the Miracle Gel top coat sets the polish instead of putting your hand under a special light. Sally Hansen advertises up to 14 days of color and shine and easy removal with this product. I found application to be difficult with this product. The brush is wide which could mean a quicker application for some but I found to hard to apply and not get polish on my finger on the sides of my nail. I could not get adequate coverage with only two coats of the color as the instructions say to do. I had to apply three coats of the wine stock color and even then coverage was not completely even. The nail area closest to the cuticle was just slightly lighter than the middle and top part of the nail which bothered me a just a tiny bit. So three coats of color plus the top coat is four coats total and that equals a lot of drying time. The finish with three coats of wine stock and the top coat was very pretty and had a nice shine to it. I had small chipping on the top edge of the nail the next day after application. Removal was very easy for me, just like removing regular polish. I wouldnt recommend this product so far but I have only tried the Wine Stock color. I always get chips at the tops of my nail and still had it happen the next day with this polish. The finish was shiny and felt hard like gel polish, but plain old fast dry top coats also give me a similar finish with less application time. See more

I got this as a result of all the reviews i read..i am so dissapointed..its not cheap and not worth it.after 3 days the nail polish chipped of the top and on one nail half of the paint is gone. i attache a pic.Followed the instructions to the tee.i do my own nails and i do the same thing even add a base coat before polish but this time i didn t as per instructions.I have 20 opi nail colors and i can tell you that the apple red holds off way more.I have a toddler and i do a lot with my hands and i was really hoping this gel was it!it wasn t...i ll never buy it again bcoz it is expensive and not worth it,:( See more

I wanted to try the gel nail polish to see if it lasts as long as it advertise. Unfortunately it does not. I am rough on my hands and wanted a nail polish that would last more than a week. This nail polish did not. I am disappointed but Im not sure if this is just this brand or all gel brands. On a good note the color is perfect for the fall/winter season. Its great! The name of the color is a little deceiving...its like a brick red in my opinion.

I am partial to dark nail polishes and have bought more brands of black nail polishes that I care to admit. In search of "The One" that will stay looking just painted day after I put it on, and applies evenly and smoothly. I was super excited when I saw this gel nail polish in black, since I have used this brand in a lighter color and it was amazing. Unfortunately Sally Hansens team missed the mark with the black polish. The directions say to apply 2 coats of the color and then the gel top coat to activate the gel component that will give you nails that look like salon done acrylics. But the polish went on unevenly even after I applied the second coat, so that there were areas of my nail that were lighter than others making my nail color appear dull. And when the top coat was applied it made it worse. My suggestion, if you are like me and really like black or black like, apply another color as on of the 2 recommended coats. It evens out the color. To say I was disappointed , sadly is an understatement, so ,my quest for a perfect black nail polish continues. See more
