Both my wife and I have the FreeStyle Lite glucose meters but now that I am on Medicare and oral medications for type II diabetes Medicare will only cover the tests strips for it every three months so when I saw this new one advertised I was excited to try it since it is made by the same company but with much cheaper strips. I tested it against mine and my wifes FreeStyle Lite meters and it failed miserably. My FreeStyle Lite measured 96 and my wifes measured 100. The FreeStyle Precision Neo measured 122 on the first strip I tried and 156 on the second strip. It also took 3 strips to get 2 readinsg with it as one strip produced an error reading. The blood sample need for these strips is also significantly larger than what the FreeStyle Lite needs. I will be trying to return this one. See more

My husband is an insulin-dependent Type 2 diabetic. We thought it was time for a new meter so purchased the Freestyle Neo. First, the test strips are individually wrapped and not easy to get out of the package. Second, the first reading (after two errors) said 54! If hes at 54, hes shaky and knows his number is low. It takes way more blood apparently than his other meter, and weve wasted way too many strips already. Would never recommend this meter to anyone, and obviously cant take it back to the store. Very disappointed that we wasted our money. See more

Been testing every few days for the last 2 months and getting fasting numbers consistently at 220 to 250. Imagine my surprise when I had a formal lab test and got 310, with an a1c of 11.9 - it means my Freestyle tester results were 100+ points low on average.

The Lancet was set on 1, but almost took my finger off and caused profuse bleeding. Requires too much blood to test. Very cheaply made, and the test strips come in a blister pack, not container. Hard to store and difficult to use. Sorry I wasted my money!

This is not a good product. I thought it was great, the way the glucose sticks are so much cheaper than others, but when I did a comparison of my AccuChek to this, this meter would read up to 40 points higher than my AccuChek.
