I have the OneTouch ultramini glucose meter. I was recommended the equate strips to save some money. However... my blood sugars are always crazy with these strips. Atleast anywhere from 15-30 points higher than with my OneTouch strips (I tested them at the same time). I did change the coding, but still yet... higher readings. So, beware before buying.

Cant live without them. They are a great value and work well. Mad that they stopped selling them in my local Wal-Marts though. Can only find them online now.

I bought these at my local Walmart when I realized I was out of One Touch Ultra Blue test strips and they wouldnt arrive for a few days. For days I couldnt figure out why my reading were so high (and yes, I did change the coding). When my One Touch strips arrived, I tested again and my numbers were in my normal range. Used the Equate a few seconds later and it was over 30 points higher. Unacceptable. I do have other non-One Touch test strips that consistently are either the same or within one or two points of the One Touch Ultra Blues. I get that we all need to save money but when it can affect complications from diabetes because the readings are not accurate, look elsewhere. My other brand is actually less expensive so when I need to fill the gap between whats covered by insurance and the rest of the month, I cannot recommend Equate. The variation is just too great to trust for me. See more

These work great after you change the Meter Calibration Code to 49 in your meter. I was really worried when I first tested and it came back as my sugar was 305!!! Then I read online that you have to change the code to match the strips. Now its normal and says 130. You should print it on the box somewhere to be sure to put the calibration code in. It could really mess someone up who doesnt go to the length of reading what to do online. Imagine if someones blood sugar was really 65 but yet the test strips showed 150, thats a serious situation! Must calibrate meter! To do this, stick a strip in the meter, when it shows the number, repeatedly push the up arrow to match the CODE on the bottle, in this case, set to 49. My first reading was 201, 3 hours after eating. I read these ratings and figured out I did not calibrate the meter for these strips. The new reading was 141 after a handful of Nacho Cheese Doritos. If you dont calibrate it will spook you! Lol
