The active ingredient in these delayed release tablets is Omeprazole 20 mg. It works as an acid reducer to treat frequent heartburn. TREATS FREQUENT HEARTBURN: These acid reducer pills treat frequent heartburn that occurs 2 or more times a week. ACID REDUCER: Omeprazole 20 mg is a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that deactivates pumps in the stomach lining to inhibit acid production at the source. 14-DAY COURSE OF HEARTBURN TREATMENT: Taken once every 24 hours for 14 days, Omeprazole Delayed Release Tablets 20 mg is not intended for immediate relief of heartburn and may take 1 to 4 days for full effect. DIRECTIONS FOR ACID REDUCER: For adults 18 years of age and older; this product is to be used once a day (every 24 hours), every day for 14 days; it may take 1 to 4 days for full effect; some people get complete relief of symptoms within 24 hours. 14-Day Course of Treatment: swallow 1 tablet with a glass of water before eating in the morning; take every day for 14 days; do not take more than 1 tablet a day; do not use for more than 14 days unless directed by your doctor; swallow whole. Do not chew or crush tablets. Repeated 14-Day Courses (if needed): you may repeat a 14-day course every 4 months; do not take for more than 14 days or more often than every 4 months unless directed by a doctor. Children under 18 years of age: ask a doctor. Heartburn in children may sometimes be caused by a serious condition.

I have been taking this for four years to control heartburn. It works very well for me! As long as I take it daily, I have no problems with heartburn at all.

I have been using this product every day for several years. It works just as well as Prilosec and is a lot cheaper. It is recommended by my doctor and pharmacist.

If you have "heartburn" and do not enjoy lining the pockets of big pharma, use this product. My acid reflux was so bad at one point, I had to sleep sitting upright. If I dared to lay prone, I would awaken choking and gasping for breath, unable to breathe. After years of fighting with insurance, doctors, etc., I changed my life. New job, new lifestyle, exercise. And now, I take a pill a week. Instead of two a day.

My spouse and I use this instead of the brand name. Works every bit as well. But, I would add it does seem to take the name brand only about 45 minutes and then takes care of the problem for 24 hours, and this brand maybe an hour to work and takes care of the problem for 24 hours.....so if you feel heartburn even starting to come on, take it then. It works very well.

These are small, easy to swallow, tablets packaged in small screw top plastic bottle of 14 tablets.
