Why did you ruin a good thing? I have used Total for years, and Mint Stripe WAS my favorite. Now it has a "New Flavor!" and its just gross. I waited and waited for the yummy mint to kick in, but it didnt. It tasted like stale gum and gave my tongue that "sour" reaction. Even after eating my breakfast I still had the weird aftertaste in my mouth. I compared the nonactive ingredients list to that on the tube I had just finished and tossed. I noticed the "new flavor" has and additional artificial sweetener in it - sucralose (in addition to the saccharin that they have in common). Ick! Thats probably what causes the gross aftertaste. This new formula is absolutely horrible! Ive been a Colgate Fresh Mint Stripe user for years and now I have to search for a new brand. It was the only toothpaste that wasnt too chalky, tasted great and left my mouth feeling fresh and clean. Both my daughter and myself tried the new formula this morning and agree it leaves an awful aftertaste (like a kids toothpaste, yuck!) and does not leave your mouth feeling fresh. Colgate, youve messed with something that didnt need fixing. You are marketing to a specific group with your "sensitivity relief" formula in hopes of gaining more consumers, but in actually what youve done is driven away your loyal ones. BIG FAIL. See more

Here we go again. Why must companies feel the need to change a product that has been rock solid for years? As I grow older I see this happen time and time again as if the consumer is stupid and will not notice the difference. My family used Fresh Mint Stripe for more than 25 years then I guess someone at Colgate who needed a promotion decided to change it. Now you have my entire family shopping for a new brand. This was the only flavor of Colgate my family liked. Now you have ruined the taste with these new ingredients. The taste is horrible. It not only tastes horrible using it, I also have a horrible aftertaste. I dont have that fresh minty feeling I used to get with the old product. I also do not like that you made the tube smaller and increased the price at the same time. Yes, we noticed. As for sensitivity protection, youre kidding me, right? My family found it does the exact opposite. We feel it actually makes our teeth feel more sensitive and painful. Whomever came up with the idea to change this product really needs to lose their job. No, Im serious. This change is going to cost your company millions in lost customers. Just reading the other reviews, I seem Im right already. For ever person writing in to complain, statistics show there are 10 that are not complaining and are just not going to buy your product anymore. This change reminds me of the time Coke changed the flavor of their soda. Coke learned their lesson and fast. They lost millions. You would think the makers of Colgate would consider something like this before they make such a radical change. Nope. Count my family as "former" Colgate users. See more

I didnt realize the formula had changed until I used it. The taste is awful. There is an unpleasant after taste. The old formula needs to become available again. I have used the original formula exclusively for many years, so I am quite miffed. Now Ill have to find a new toothpaste.

I used the old formula for years and was very happy my teeth were clean felt clean and most of all my breath was so fresh and clean. However this new formula is horrible! I felt like I was going to gag. It did not clean my teeth the way it used to and left a horrible taste in my mouth. Im so disappointed please bring back old formula or I need to find a new toothpaste.
